UAF Sister Funds
In partnership with three sister funds, Urgent Action Fund-Africa, Urgent Action Fund-Latin America, and Urgent Action Fund-Asia & Pacific we provide support for women’s human rights defenders all over the globe. We collectively support women’s leadership and activism in over 110 countries around the world, including areas affected by armed conflict, escalating violence, political volatility and extreme repression.
Each sister Urgent Action Fund is an independent organization. Building on our shared history, we use a common rapid response model and work collaboratively as a sisterhood to advocate for women’s human rights.

Urgent Action Fund-Asia & Pacific
Urgent Action Fund-Asia & Pacific was launched in Australia and the Philippines in late 2017. Several years ago, women human rights defenders in Asia began to voice the need for their own regionally-based rapid response fund. In response, Urgent Action Fund took several steps, including a series of listening and engagement meetings with defenders, advisors, and stakeholders to transform this feedback into reality, including doubling our financial commitment to the region.
Urgent Action Fund-Asia & Pacific resources the resilience of women and non-binary human rights defenders by strengthening and sustaining webs of security and care. Their strategies are multi-faceted and linked to a transformative social justice agenda, building a solidarity economy, and re-imagining cultures, including the culture of giving in Asia and the Pacific.
